Spring is finally here, and many couples are planning to say I do in the coming months, with May being the most popular month of the season to wed. Every time of year brings a new crop of trends that will impact everything from whether you go with a suit or a tux, which tie you’ll choose and what other accessories will be selected to complete your wedding day look.
Luckily, Generation Tux has a large selection of suits and tuxedos, and as well as a variety of shirts, ties and other accessories. We’re also ready to share some of the biggest trends we’re seeing from our own Generation Tux customers for upcoming spring weddings.
When it comes to choosing the right tie to complete their spring wedding day look, grooms are opting to go with long neckties over formal bow ties. In fact, a whopping 74 percent of April grooms and 75 percent of May grooms have decided to wear one of Generation Tux’s neckties that come in a variety of colors and patterns.
Our recommendation: Some of the colors that are trending for the spring include a bevy of blues such as Steel Blue, Dark Navy and Desert Blue, as well as pretty pinks including Quartz, Blush and Dusty Rose. Of course, you also can’t go wrong with classic black if you want to add some formality to your outfit.
The outdoor opportunities of warmer months could be the reason why grooms are ditching the tuxedo and going with a suit. After all, many couples have part or all of their wedding outdoors or even decide to have a daytime event, which calls for a less formal ensemble.
Our recommendation: Spring colors taking center stage, so steer away from darker colors that are more associated with the winter months. With that in mind, Generation Tux is seeing a more than a 25% increase in requests for blue suits, and up to a 55% surge for gray suits.
And don’t forget that most our suits are constructed with 100% merino wool (Indigo Blue suit is our only blended fabric suit containing 50% Wool / 30% Silk / 20% Linen) and come in slim and classic fits to make sure you look and feel your best throughout the day.
The shoes you select really do put the finishing touch on your wedding day look. Generation Tux offers comfortable shoes in Black Patent Leather, Matte Black and Brown Ombre. Of course, which one you choose depends on what color your suit is, but here’s a fun fact: Black socks are always selected unless you’ll be wearing our British Tan or Navy Blazer.
Our recommendation: With blue and gray suits trending for spring, we think our Mystic Blue, Navy Blue, Gray Sharkskin or Cement Gray suits are the perfect pick for a spring wedding. Pair with a brown shoe to pull your look together.
