As Winter approaches, events begin to head indoors away from colder temperatures and our calendar’s fill with formal events from Holiday Parties, Winter Formals, and the increasingly popular Winter Wedding. Every year, winter weddings bring new trends that will impact everything from whether you go with a suit or a tuxedo, which tie you’ll choose and what other accessories will be selected to complete your wedding day look.
Luckily, Generation Tux has a large selection of suits and tuxedos, and as well as a variety of shirts, ties and other accessories. We’re also ready to share some of the biggest trends we’re seeing from our own Generation Tux customers for upcoming winter weddings.
As colder weather brings events indoors, grooms are opting for a more formal tuxedo or darker suit. With that in mind, Generation Tux is seeing a more than a 25% increase in requests for Blue suits, and up to a 55% surge for tuxedos.
And don’t forget that most our suits are constructed with 100% merino wool (Indigo Blue suit is our only blended fabric suit containing 50% Wool / 30% Silk / 20% Linen) and come in slim and classic fits to make sure you look and feel your best throughout the day.
When it comes to choosing the right tie to complete their winter wedding day look, grooms are opting to go with bow ties to pair with their more formal tuxedo. In fact, a whopping 55% of December grooms opted for a bow tie. With bronze and harvest gold being popular selections for Generation Tux customers, you also can’t go wrong with classic black if you want to add a bit more formality to your outfit.
The shoes you select really do put the finishing touch on your wedding day look. Generation Tux offers comfortable shoes in Black Patent Leather, Matte Black, and Brown Ombre. Of course, which one you choose depends on what color your suit is, but here’s a fun fact: Black socks are always selected unless you’ll be wearing our British Tan or Navy Blazer. With tuxedos trending for winter, pair with a black dress shoe.
