However, the U.S. has its own great wine regions, especially in California. While Napa Valley is what most people associate with California wine country, there are some other great wine country destinations in California for a wedding. Today we are sharing a few of the best wine country destinations in California for your picture-perfect wedding.

Healdsburg is a charming wine country town located in the northern part of Sonoma County. Healdsburg Plaza in downtown is lined with nice restaurants and tasting rooms, while just beyond the town is some of Sonoma’s best wineries. These wineries help make up many of Sonoma’s most important wine areas, including Dry Creek, Russian River and Alexander Valley.

Soda Rock Winery in Alexander Valley features outdoor venues that include a barn and courtyard, while nearby Simi is steeped in history, dating back to the late 1800s, and makes a beautiful wedding backdrop. Hotel Healdsburg, an upscale hotel in Healdsburg itself, is a great hotel option and can even host weddings.

Just northwest of Sonoma County is Mendocino County, which is home to the small Anderson Valley appellation. One of the largest and best wedding venues is before you even start coming into the Anderson Valley, The Highlands Estate, which features an outdoor venue overlooking its own vineyards. The property also features a fully heated and air-conditioned barn that can be used for wedding ceremonies.

Further into Anderson Valley, in beautiful Philo, is The Madrones, where old-world European charm meets modern luxury at this unique property that features tasting rooms, a restaurant and private estate guest quarters. Wedding venues at The Madrones include outdoor terraces and gardens. Nearby is Brutocao Cellars, where you can say your vows amidst vineyards in the Anderson Valley.

Temecula is really the wine country of Southern California, located 90 miles southeast of Los Angeles and featuring more than 30 wineries. Though a smaller California wine region, many of the wineries make for great wedding venues, such as Mount Palomar Winery, one of the area’s oldest wineries, which can accommodate up to 500 guests, and features backdrops of vineyards and Temecula Valley’s mountains.

Elsewhere, there’s Falkner Winery, where you can wed amidst the winery’s vineyards before having your reception in the restaurant, Pinnacle, which features a 180-degree-view of the vineyards and valley below. For old-world charm, there’s Europa Village, which is part winery and part inn, for a wedding venue that’s more all-encompassing.

Paso Robles is located in Central California, a couple of hours north of Santa Barbara, where wineries are set amidst hot springs and olive and almond orchards. Vina Robles is a be-all wine country wedding venue, featuring an indoor space, terraces, patio and a boutique outdoor amphitheater.

It even has a three-bedroom guesthouse. For something intimate, there’s Home Sweet Home Cottage and Ranch (just south of Paso Robles), featuring a cottage, farm, historic barn, and pond. Other wineries that double as wedding venues include Thacher Winery and Pear Valley Vineyard.

Of course, we can’t talk California wine country and overlook Napa Valley in its entirety. Yountville located several miles north of the town of Napa, maybe small in size, but features some of the best of Napa, not the least of which is the French Laundry, one of the best restaurants in the world. While getting into The French Laundry is easier said than done, Yountville features beautiful wedding venues, such as Domaine Chandon, known for their sparkling wine, and featuring a large property that includes beautiful green spaces, a tasting room, and outdoor patios.

Elsewhere there’s Bardessono, an award-winning eco-luxury hotel that features more than 4,000 square feet of outdoor space for weddings, including outdoor terraces and the poolside patio. To buy out an entire venue, there’s the North Block Hotel in the heart of Yountville, where you can buy out all 20 rooms for your private celebration.
