The Generation Tux Home Try-On: Finding the Right Fit

Take a moment to think about the typ­i­cal process of buy­ing a car. You gen­er­al­ly shop around until you find one that you like, and once you’ve made your selec­tion, you usu­al­ly take it for a test dri­ve, right? It’s kind of the same idea with the home try-on. You vis­it our web­site; you choose items that you’d like to wear for the big day; you test dri­ve the look and expe­ri­ence.

What is a Home Try-On?

Our Home Try-On pro­gram is designed espe­cial­ly for brides and grooms to test out a look before the big day. A Home Try-On well before the wed­ding allows the cou­ple to try out dif­fer­ent looks and fits to see what is best for them. We want you to get the exact look you want and look as fan­tas­tic as you pos­si­bly can for this momen­tous occa­sion.

Once you pick out a look, the order will be shipped for free to you and you will have 48 hours to try every­thing on and send it back. Your per­son­al styl­ist will be in touch to make sure every­thing is just right.

A Home Try-On, how­ev­er, is not for grooms­men or oth­er mem­bers of your par­ty. It’s just to help the bride and groom decide on the looks for the day. Every­one’s suit or tuxe­dos will be deliv­ered 14 before your event to ensure there is plen­ty of time to fix any fit issues. If you have addi­tion­al con­cerns regard­ing your Home Try-On or the fit of oth­er mem­bers of your par­ty, please con­tact cus­tomer expe­ri­ence.

  • Vis­it our Home Try-On page and then click, ‘Start Home Try-On.’
  • Time to build your look. Select the first but­ton ‘Tuxe­dos & Suits,’ which will show you the col­lec­tion. If you had pre­vi­ous­ly ordered swatch­es and know exact­ly which color/style you pre­fer, just match the col­or name. If you are still on the fence, you can fil­ter the items by cat­e­go­ry and col­or.
  • Once you click the suit or tuxe­do you are inter­est­ed in, it will take you back to ‘Build a Look.’ Here you can cus­tomize your home try-on fur­ther.
  • ‘Shirts’ you can fil­ter these as well by cat­e­go­ry, pat­tern, and col­or.
  • With ‘Ties’ you can fil­ter and nar­row your options by cat­e­go­ry, pat­tern, and col­or on the left side.
  • For ‘Vest & Cum­mer­bund’ we auto select the match­ing vest to your suit or tuxe­do. If you wish to change it, you can do so here. If you opt to not try on a vest you can click the ‘X’ in the upper right-hand cor­ner. You can fil­ter the vests and cum­mer­bunds by cat­e­go­ry, pat­tern, and col­or.
  • And ‘Shoes’ we have three options to choose from. If you wish to not try on our shoes just be sure to click the ‘X’ in the upper right-hand cor­ner.
  • After you’ve made your selec­tions for your home try-on, be sure to save your look.

Fit Profile

After sav­ing your look, you will be asked a series of fit relat­ed ques­tions.

  • How tall are you?
  • How much do you weigh?
  • How old are you?
  • What is your shoe size? You will want to select the type and shoe size you usu­al­ly wear.
  • What is your jean waist? You will want to input your usu­al jean waist size. This num­ber can vary based on brand (we under­stand) just use your best judg­ment.
  • How would you describe your build? We ask for a stom­ach pro­file: flat, aver­age or round­ed; also build pro­file: thin, aver­age or mus­cu­lar. Use your best judg­ment if you are unsure.
  • How do you pre­fer your suits to fit? Here you will select ‘Mod­ern’ (stan­dard fit, flat­ters most body types) or ‘Slim’ (close-fit­ting, short­er coat, and tapered pant legs).

You’re almost fin­ished! Here you will want to input your ship­ping infor­ma­tion. We do ask for a valid cred­it or deb­it card for your order. The Home Try-On is free. We will autho­rize your card for the val­ue of the Home Try-On. You will only be charged if you do not return the out­fit.


Once you receive the Home Try-On you will want to try on all of your items imme­di­ate­ly. You’ll have 48-hours from deliv­ery to try your out­fit out. We will have a per­son­al styl­ist reach out to you to dis­cuss your expe­ri­ence and any fit changes you might have. If some­thing feels off, we ask you to doc­u­ment those issues with pho­tos. This will help your per­son­al styl­ist bet­ter under­stand your con­cerns and pro­vide solu­tions.

Once you’re fin­ished with the Home Try-On, you pack­age every­thing back up; apply the pre­paid return ship­ping label includ­ed in your box, and drop the box off at the near­est UPS store.
