What started as a fun idea in a meeting at our office in San Diego last year ended up being a special day for a lucky couple. We wanted to give away a wedding to one couple to get married at 2:22 on 2-22-22!
The idea was simple, ask people to nominate a couple to win an all-expense paid wedding in San Diego on 2-22-22. We posted the message on our social media accounts in November of 2021 and got a big response. The decision was tough. After careful consideration, our judges chose Bob Lloyd and Mary Luc.
Mary works for a public health agency in Northern California. She's spent the last two years helping keep people safe and informed through the pandemic. Bob works in IT and has been helping people transition to working from home during the pandemic. He's helps so many people to keep their jobs in the changing world we all lived through.
Not only are they great people, but they also had a fun story on how they met. It started with two people from different ends of the country finding each other in a dance class. Not only did they start their lives life together on a unique day, but also 2-22-22 was Bob’s birthday!
Here at Generation Tux, we know Suits and Tuxedos, and we know weddings. But throwing a wedding is a completely different thing. So we reached out to our friend and local wedding planner Lindsay Dean to make the wedding happen. Lindsay was on board from the start. She rallied a long list of local vendors that donated their time, expertise to make the day extra special.
